If you were given the offer to buy a one dollar/euro home that’s either rundown or in a depopulating region would you accept?

I’ll probably would, it would nice to having a place of my own even if it will take some work to fix it up, I’ll probably value it even more if I have to put effort into remodeling it. Would kinda remind me of that RDR 2 house building scene as silly as it sounds.

The price reflects the value of the home. Everybody would like to own a home or get rich by fixing one up. So there's a good good reason why nobody purchased them yet.

I would take a run down property for 1$. Material to rebuild it would get expensive fast.
I was blue collar wagie for a long while so remodeling the house/plumbing would be no issue. I’d be afraid to roof something that dilapidated though.

Could have my own bedroom and rent the rest out to a white family for income.

1 dollar for the house and land yah but also depends how much would I have to spend on property taxes?
