I think it is peer pressure for most normies, or at least they have no reason to defect against the system because they are provided with the means to a consistent stream of dopamine 'carrot and stick' through social connection, sexual opportunities and career progression. Becoming isolated is not a fringe thing, it's quite popular among younger generations because that dopamine is being supplemented by video games, anime, porn, social media; basically normies of the past were addicted to social interaction and life because real life is all they had.

Being an NPC is just being a normal functional human. Being 'anti-system' only makes sense if the system doesn't work for you. If the system suddenly works there's no reason to rebel. We are all slaves in one way or another.

If i started thinking like i do now, it's because i hate my inferior place in thé world and can't deal with it. I rather don't play a game i hate than tryhard for poot results.
