There's like 10-20% actual based NEETs, the rest are just failed normies like me hence all the miserable self hating threads about how they wasted their life or were denied life. Because their ideal life involves working an honest job, having a family and a normal social life. So clearly this unnatural society or our own unresolved problems/trauma is what we should focus on, instead of pretending that we enjoy being NEET and missing out on all life has to offer. No we must face our problems instead of escaping and coping.

No one really wishes to drop out of society, claiming to be some warrior against the system is a cope.

Most users here would leave this place behind if they got a GF or well paying job.

Issue is the would be good life sold to us working and going to dive bars or whatever kinda sucks even for would be normal people

I don't recall the exact stat @Lain quoted but like 1 in 5 are on SSRIs and its increasingly common for people to feel like they have few to no friends

So rather than take it as a given that working "good jobs" is a net positive to one's life, flip the script. They have to prove to us that it's worthwhile and actually leads to greater happiness

This isn't a new/novel concept either, the whole idea that well-todo middle class work life isn't all its cracked up to be and is kinda depressing has been a pop culture staple since the 80s. Fight club, infinite jest, Falling Down, American beauty. The very origin of the pill terminology the matrix and so on

There's a fairly diverse set of views around here. I'd prefer to be a NEET all my life but would hate to be a burden so my plan is to get a low paying remote job or move somewhere where I get government checks rather than my parents. Beyond that I wouldn't really make any changes to my lifestyle. Socialising only brings trouble and I'm more comfortable chatting with people online anyway. Once you spend long enough as a neet you start to get comfortable

Yes but that's probably due to a lack of culture and individuality. If you're doing the job you want to do, doing to hobby/copes you chose to do, and you're connected to your culture and religion you probably won't be as depressed as a normie white/westernised ethnic golem wagecuck.

But if you're like just doing things you don't enjoy doing hate everything you do and therefore hate everything about yourself then you will probably be more depressed.

Me not being productive is more valuable than working 8 hours a day so some kike can take 95% of the earnings and buy million dollar yachts
You’re working to earn money so you can pay for yourself. You’re choosing a lifestyle of leeching off wagecucks or elderly parents or being an eternal ‘rich kid’ in order to spend time doing what you’d be doing after work anyway.

But I have never wagecucked before so I can’t talk.

The work balance is so fucked nowadays and I’d be tired as shit after wagecucking for 8 hours that I wouldn’t play vidya after work.

(video games) yes but with the commute, making dinner, and all else that I have to do after work I'll have little time to do anything + lack of energy gg

‘I wouldn’t. I don’t even want a well-paying job, I prefer the 900 a month neetbux lifestyle so I don’t have to leave the house

Yeah and that's alot of ifs and and an vaninishly rare scenario

Just do you what you love and get paid well and have time left over for hobbies and maintain cpnnection to culture bro

It's like saying you won't get divorced if you have a perfect marriage. People aren't in these situations for fun. They're increasingly rare in the job market and deracinated world

NEETdom is STITGOAT. Anyone who says otherwise is wagiefag.
It is GOAT if you’re actually enjoying and doing as you will with the free time without shame, pseudo wagecucks like myself and most NEETs just treat it like solitary confinement.

Riddler said something similar to what I said, I think it is increasingly rare for people to find satisfying lives in normal society. If you have something you love to do, that you can make money doing, consider yourself truly blessed. For a lot of people, they don't have that, society fills us up with all these desires and wants playing off our innate biological nature and makes us crave a perfect future that won't be coming. As for myself, I love being a NEET. I'm glad I have the chance to be one, I know a lot of people wouldn't get the chance. I have the time to exercise, to read, to play vidya, to rot, sometimes to do harmful things to my own health admittedly, but I have the time to do it.

Whatever I decide to do, if it's rotting or if it's learning a new skill, I decided to do it. Not an alarm clock, not someone standing over my shoulders yelling at me, if I'm "productive" or "wasteful" isn't what I think about particularly these days, what I think about is what I want to do. I want to spend a life doing things I enjoy doing. You could see it as incredibly selfish but I think I'd much rather rope than bother with the drudgery of another person's schedule for the rest of my life. That'd be too painful. I think what a lot of people want at the end of the day though is good friends, a good partner and good food. I think if we have these, we are satisfied, NEET or wagie or whatever. But the world is full of people, with varying ideas of what they want, there's plenty that'd prefer to be left alone, not to cope, it's the only way they find peace.

I love being a NEET myself and I don't believe I'm coping when I say it.
