If you want to shut someone up, tell them the truth and then they will yell only at walls. If you asked me that question "are men and women equal" the answer is yes under natural law which the creator hath put in place to govern the intelligent behavior of all sentient beings follows:

1.No being has the right of ownership over another.

2.No being can take that which does not belong to another.

3.Any man made law which attempts to uphold that a man may own another whether through debt or in general is inconsistent with objective morality and natural law.

Hence it can be said, that if she were to say women are oppressed then it is part women helping in the process and men who do not know out of sheer ignorance are participating in cultural absurdities which enslave another. In essence, no man may own another, no women may own another; no being may restrain another's actions.

If you notice, this is a universal and not a particular, notice I appeal to the authority higher then man and his laws; thus you can shut her up, because if she was truly oppressed she would not even had the opportunity to express her opinion that it was occurring, because if it had been otherwise she would have been back handed and coerced into silence. Overall all, all beings are equal before the natural law of creation.

Point out only what is self-evident, say what is correct and true and cannot be disputed, but if you cannot say accurately that which is true and you resort to opinion, you doom yourself and do a disservice.
