My PC came with Windows 10 Pro which I've reinstalled dozens of times along with every Linux distro under the sun, and now I'm finally realizing that I just need to go back to Windows 7. Windows 7 was the OS that I spent the most time with as a kid, and I should've been able to keep using it in my teen years too but since I didn't have a PC for so long I was robbed of that time. I could've never imagined how bad OSes would get later in my life. I took it for granted back then, because in 2011 Windows 7/Vista/XP were everywhere.

Last year just a couple days after getting my new (refurbished) PC with Windows 10 I realized how annoying, bloated, buggy and visually depressing it was so I took the plunge and installed Linux Mint. Then Kubuntu. Then Debian. Then Arch. Then Fedora. Then EndeavourOS. Then Void Linux. Then Artix. Also like 7348294 other distros that I'm forgetting about. I think Linux is cool but my PC has issues with the built-in Intel graphics driver regardless of the distro, and it also makes it harder to use some music software that I like. I ended up just mainly going back to Windows 10, either Pro or the 2021 LTSC/IOT version, and using tools to debloat it. But this still doesn't satisfy me, and I end up switching my OS again within a week or two.

Windows 7 is like being alive and Windows 8/10/11 is like being dead. Windows 7 looks and sounds beautiful and immersive, Windows 10 is the most depressing shit I've ever seen. Windows 7 truly makes me happy and comfortable in a way that no other OS can. I don't care if I'm at greater risk of getting hacked or something, I will be careful and worst case scenario I'll just change my passwords and reinstall again. It's a small price to pay for using Windows 7.

Today I think I will get a Windows 7 iso and figure out how to slipstream the updates and NVMe/USB 3.0 drivers into it. I'm ready to end this cycle and go back to the OS that I was truly meant to use. Windows 7 is the only thing that makes me happy
