Do you get offended when other people try to “appropriate” your culture by dressing, celebrating or cooking your peoples food? How about claiming your history?

I don't really mind if gringos wear a sombrero and poncho, eat their weird Americanized Mexican food or celebrate the 5th of May, I find it a bit amusing if anything. Although I do get taken it back when blacks try to claim to be natives because “the faces of the statues have big lips”…

At like 9-10 I'm pretty sure I saw dreads on white men first like jack sparrow, bill Kaulitz and korn on the internet. I had no interest in "black culture" and mainly liked anime

In Canada everything is so mishmash we barely have a concept of white or black culture so it's neither here there to me. Most of my black classmates liked anime and jrpgs and the Indians/asians liked rap

I doubt anyone even knows of my culture to appropriate it. When I see early games depicting Africa as a wasteland with some dudes in skirts throwing spears at elephants I just chuckle. Never really bothered me

This is all because of Kenya and South Africa using what little soft power exists to make it seem like the savannah covers the whole continent now people act surprised seeing a castle in Africa like "woaahh??? You guys weren't living in bushes???" God I hate "my" people
