A dead silent computer is what i dream about tbh. I changed my cpu cooler and it was the best purchase i made in this year. The old one was so shitty and noisy. It raped my ears for years, dont know why i never thought about changing it. I was shocked at the level of silence of my new cooler.
I also made some multi core benchmarking tests and tested which fans matter most. I have 1 120mm exhaust fan, 1 140mm fan on top works like a second exhaust fan, 2 120m fans blowing on the hdd area but i moved my hdd so they were spinning for nothing.
Turns out that the 140 mm fan never made much difference. It makes a 2Celcius difference. It wasnt worth it to keep it running so i plugged it off. The 120mm exhaust fan was the most effective one. After 10 minutes of multicore benchmarking my pc case was hot, it felt hot when i touched to the exhaust fan area on the back of my case.
So rn i only have 2 fans running, my cpu fan and my exhaust fan. Im thinking about switching it to a more quiet fan in few months but its fine.
My pc is not dead silent but its pretty nice in terms of decibel levels. My dream is to get a completely passive cooled pc. That can be achieved by a heat chamber system with large heatsinks.
