Modafinil is a drug that makes you more awake. Students and workers often use it without a prescription to improve their brain power and productivity while they study or work. Modafinil is mostly recommended to treat sleep disorders like narcolepsy, obstructive sleep apnea, and shift work sleep disorder. However, because it improves brain function, it is also commonly known as a "smart drug" or cognitive enhancer.

Modafinil raises the activity of some neurotransmitters in the brain, which makes you more awake and improves cognitive functions like memory, attention, and mental function. Studies have shown that modafinil can improve performance on tasks that need sustained attention, decision-making, and working memory. This means that it might be helpful for people who are learning or working on hard projects.

But you should be careful when taking provigil and only do what a doctor tells you to do. Like any other drug, modafinil can cause side effects like headaches, nausea, sleeplessness, jitters, and stomach problems. It's also not clear what the long-term benefits and safety of using modafinil for cognitive enhancement are. It shouldn't be used instead of good study habits, enough sleep, and managing your time well.
