It sounds like a terrible idea to go to a poor country and work there, most people do the opposite, you know? Wouldn't it a better idea to use the money you have to invest in something in the country that you could make money from? As just an example, if you bought real estate, a four unit property fully paid off would appreciate and go up in value, meanwhile, the other tenants would pay your bills and allow you to live a very comfortable life. So, you'd be self-sufficient off just that. Over time, as the property goes up in value, you would be able to leverage that asset to borrow more money, which you could then go and purchase more property to rent from. The only issue with this problem is finding the right people to rent to, so maybe it would be better to scout out the country first and only get a 2 unit property and diversify in other assets while you're there.
