How controlling were your parents over your life when growing up, are they still helicoptering you even now?

As a young kid a lot, basically couldn’t do much without them trying to have some control over it maybe expect with the internet given they didn’t know much about it. Even now they still try to influence me, granted less than when I was younger but their parental oversight is still there.

Same, I also got beaten more than my younger sibling. Now my youngest sibling is a brat (still like him though)

I think the older siblings just end up being the test subjects, and then parents realize that beating doesn't work so the younger ones get spared. I always did the same things even after getting beat up for it.

Pretty much same.
They still have major influence over what I even do everyday when I am state's away from them..

Very liberal compared to other parents with regard to where i could go, when i could stay out til, what i could eat and drink, internet/media options. Mainly school they were strict on, for years i was forced to have bare blade on sides and like 2mm hair on top which caused much ridicue. More controlled by threat of punishment despite jt rarely being more than maybe a slap or no xbox or going out for a day

They was let me do nothing probably because judged i'm a failure and can't do nothing good.

Can't go outside, can't go outside with bike, can't mow the lawn because "it's dangerous (lol), control what i play and watch because affraid i play violent vidyas, can't go outside with my Friends (or need to talk about it 1 week before and they are very invasive about with who, where...), in middle school don't let me celebrate New year with Friends, never learn me stuff like mechanical...

It's very brutal because i was really a curious kid who want to discover anything. My teachers even said i'm curious and touch at all. Thanks to my parents who treat me like a loser and destroy all myself confidence. Now i'm a loser and they don't understand why i'm a KHHV NEET who have no hobby even they block me to discover life and think i can start normal life with 10 years of late.
