I've never had a social media account so I have no idea if it's worth it or not.
Do you get similar conversations and dynamics to forums? The whole reason I use forums in the first place is because I like talking with familiar faces and seeing a cosy, unfiltered stream of what people's daily thoughts are. It's interesting to see a unique melting pot of personalities talking about things I otherwise wouldn't think about.

Honestly I've been thinking of making an account on Twitter (sigh, X) just because it seems like the de facto social media for current events and engineers and scientists around AI seem to post there a lot. I get most of my information now from YouTube and scientific papers (do you classify YouTube as social media or entertainment like Netflix? idk).

What are your experiences with social media, do you personally use any and does it enrich your life?

Forums are far better because they actually promote discussion. Other social media is built around garnering as much engagement as possible and is overall a waste of time. You should avoid it as much as possible

Its not worth it tbh im sub 6 so even when i finally got social media last year i barely used it social media is for fags , cucks , and attention seeking foids ( which is all foids)
