My NEET friend never replies to his discord messages on time, sometimes even going weeks/months before finally replying back. He frequently talks about being "busy" with stuff. He's a NEET and I know this because he's claimed to be one before. How the fuck does a NEET get "busy"? What is he doing instead of replying to my discord messages?

That's not always the case, I am never busy anymore and I still sometimes take weeks to reply to my friend because I simply don't feel like messaging them at the time, that doesn't mean I don't want to talk to them ever, it's just that it somtimes takes me some time to get in the mood for talking.

I take time to respond because I literally forget. I forgot about a message once and didn't reply until a month later. Don't take it too personally the NEET lifestyle erodes your brain in strange ways

Discord is pretty shit overall so I hardly even check it, I just open it and let it run for a while and close it off. Maybe he has a girlfriend? Maybe he's just helping his mum/dad around the house? Could also be playing games or exercising. Just being a neet doesn't absolve you of other duties

Depends on if he's popular or not. Maybe he's avoidant and struggles to be social so he keeps putting off social contact.
