I almost kidnapped a cat

I snuck up from behind but I had my groceries and it noticed me and got shook. I really would like to have a cat and the next time I get an opportunity I might take it. Last year I picked up a tiny kitten but I let it go. They're so innocents and oblivious to the dangerous in this world at that age. I'd feel better stealing a fully matured one, but I'm really desperate. If I can get a cat it'd probably be worth risking going to prison for.

I think they do care at least a bit. I see pictures of missing cats with their phone numbers all over the place, so they do seem to care, just not as much as they care about the missing people for some reason.
