This story is long, and traces back to the times where there still was the republic in my country... After the war happened, many men died and there was a huge speculation going on, people were building houses illegally, and appropriating of terrains that weren't theirs...
My entire neighborhood was property of 1 family, and my family received a house for a lucky case, we were basically sold this apartment but it wasn not clear what was our property about. The maps about our property were contradictory, because the apartment we had wasn't even appearing there, we were proprietary of "something", but we didn't know of what specifically.
It took years of research to understand the situation.
What happens next is that we are accused of being abusive, this mounts a dispute with lawyers that lasts for years... We discover that what is registered as our property becomes effectively "our property", so we pay fees and go register the area that was told it was "property" according to the maps.
That area now has garages on it, so we own multiple garages.
I now own garages, and they are worth around 1 million... This is how I came to be a landlord.
It is a story of mafia, of corruption, traces back 100 years.
Who knows what is happening in Ukraine right now, I can only say that the consequences will haunt future generations for the next 100-200 years. Bureaucracy will haunt us all. In our states with all the advanced bureaucracies, our life is haunted by happenings of 100 years ago .
But, yes now I am landlording... At least it's not that bad for me. I also got no vaxxxxine.
