no one who would seriously call themselves a "youtuber" has ever made anything worth watching after maybe 2017. Some youtube videos and channels are very good, but they all cringe and want god to smite them if you associate them with that internet culture of clowns and "youtubers". 99 percent is a waste of time , some word babble people need when they’re downing their slop

video essays are the definition of a midwit activity and waste of time, it kind of activates your brain with information but none of it has anything resembling a use and chances are you will neither remember enough to ever discuss it nor have an oppurtunity to talk about the hour+ video on X. Also most of them have very cringe voices and senses of humor that make me want punch them. You could have watched lecture/tutorial in something for the same intellectual itch.

vlogs are either some obnoxious jestermaxxer/soy SJW or just narcy chad going outside. Along with lets plays/reactions, it's a sad activity that shows you have no real social oppurtunities and have to resort to the sludge drip parasocial relationship

in 99%+ of cases a youtuber is focused around a certain small topic/niche, they will either make video essays (see above) or have the novelty of their content drop to 0 as the demand for weekly uploads rapidly exhausts anything they have to say. There is no better demonstration of the 80-20/99-1 rule, they will probably have 100s of videos approaching subject from every conceivable angle, when everything worth knowing would fill up about 2 videos and a tik tok.

if you take the internet celebrities drama, fights, etc seriously you need to turn around and face the wall

YouTube and any video sharing service for that matter turned to shit once they became viably easy ways to make money. People will obviously do things that garner the most attention even if it's in direct contradiction with what they believe/do. Why make a few hour long videos detailing a country's history in a well composed manner when it makes 10x more to cut it up into tiktoks with loud music and robotic narration? I just assume anyone who regularly uploads to YouTube is a NEET making some side money which is cool but anyone who takes it seriously enough to to do it full time or enter petty internet conflicts needs to off themselves

Yeah it's celebrities in general. Performers were low status in Rome and seen at lateral to prostitutes

Katherine dee said all internet personalities devolve into lolcows

There's great artists on youtube but they don't fall into that realm of personality/performer. Performers prostrate themselves before the audience basically like a prostitute.

Prostitutes almost always end up degrading themselves because the paying client wants to feel powerful. Most actors basically end up like this. There's exceptions like leo, Brando, pattinson etc

Leo and Brando looksminning was the strong move. If they were just focused on remaining pretty forever, they'd get burned out and washed up bowing before the crowd. And they had their best roles older and worse looking

You can see this with musicians, artists etc. It depends on whether theyre willing to placate the crowd

This guy is an artist imo he makes great videos. He isn't a jestermax personality and won't devolve into a lolcow. I chose Austin butler in dune because he was a teen star and he actually said being "ugly" for the role was empowering and girls still liked it lol

How did you write all that in under 5 minutes? That's 115 words. OP post was 8:20 PM, you reply 8:24 PM (we live in the same timezone btw). Fuck you nigga.

I always struggle with composing anything and then "stitch together" random pieces of text, plus ESL hardship of picking the right words.

I spend all day writing and looking shit up so I got fast at it. Don't have the ESL dillema because I keep a list of words to pull from and I'm better at English than my native embarrassingly. I still have the issue of not being able to properly express what I think but I've shared these exact words several times over different forums so it's become second nature

2017 was the last good year
Nigga, are you fucking nuts? The internet has died when Facebook won the social network race. Like 2010ish.
Since then internet has been a fucking dumpster. Even pornography has worsened. Today a nigga pays 20 dollars to see a brown flabby pussy and think it is okay.
Internet peak was between 2000 and 2010. Internet was fast enough to browse some nice websites, but not too fast to give space to cancers like streaming, influencers, telemetry etc. A sane person would simply make a custom blog, with custom styling, writing some cool things about their lives, discoveries etc. Now most people are compelled to create an instagram/tikcktock account because "everybody is already there". You can't see shit if you don't have an account, simply disgusting. I hope we get a new Carrington Event to wipe out the shit. We have to make the internet unfriendly again.
