Serious i haven't finished a book since 2020

I finished LOTR in 2020 bcuz i was in a ward. I haven't finished a book since then.

Like, yea books are cool and all but spending hours upon hours reading is just boring as fuck. I could be doing multiple things in that space of time instead of doing juts one thing that requires only reading words

don't get me wrong, reading is important. I just find books are too long. I find other types of reading fun like reading studies on looks

I finished LOTR in 2020 bcuz i was in a ward. I haven't finished a book since then.

The trilogy took me a year or two to read because I'm hopelessly addicted to the internet. I finished The Grapes of Wrath (600+ pages) within a few days at the ward.
When you're in such an environment, your attention span stabilizes because there's nothing else in there that truly overstimulates the brain. That's by design. Psych wards are meant to be low-stress environments that detox you from excess stimulation caused by outside sources.
It's part of the reason why they take your phone away in some wards, though that's also a preventative measure against you getting numbers from crazy pusspuss
