In the past degenerates and so on were outcasted but so were incels tbh. U sfcels don’t understand that people like us would be brutally tormented and ostracised. People didn’t give mercy to joker/weird kids back in the day. We’d be scapegoated and killed, beaten up everyday, tortured in public and outcasted from everything.

This modern silent ostracism is way better, we get to stay comfy and cope in our rooms instead of being dragged out and humiliated day in day out

Good: you have more options to stay alone and can more easily find a common community online to mitigate your problems long enough until you find a solution or learn to live with it
Bad: it unnecessarily prolongs suffering by offering endless refuge rather than forcing change. Some people get stuck in this loop for 10+ years without spending a single moment well. This wouldn't happen in a feudal environment

I am waiting for the AI fever dream to consume me entirely. I am so over the current paradigm right now. In the next 75 years we will have:

• AI wives.
• Interstellar travel.
• Advanced gene editing.
• Machine gods.
• Unlimited fusion energy (or at least incredibly efficient solar arrays).
• Quantum computers allow for exponential computes to become linear.
• Reverse aging and functional immortality, brain uploading.
• Full-dive hyper-real VR.
• World simulators.

If society is not fucked over royally or we are not enslaved by power-tripping billionaires, current humans will become immortal cyber-gods with personal space baronies comprised of infinite earth simulator arrays. I.e if we manage to survive the next few decades, humans that are alive right now have the chance to ascend to the next step of evolution - i.e homo novus and govern their own multiverse of infinite energy. This sounds like science fiction but the 21st century is the only time period where such insane leaps in the nature of reality are possible for humans due to the nature of exponential technological progression.
