I wonder what it would be like to be in the Merchant Navy

it might be tolerable, unlike the Royal Navy

the discipline might not be as brutal, and they might not shout at you and bully you

also, you would never have to fight & die

yet you could still tell people you were in the Navy, and it would still sound impressive

a life out at sea might suit a misfit like me
