I’m a NEET again!

I started studying college last year and I had four classes a week, but that was too much for me. I just can’t seem to handle getting up and sleeping on time for four days in a row. I dropped out after I got the flu in mid-November, so I’ve been a NEET again since then. I will be switching majors and studying part-time later this year, with classes once a week, so I’ll basically continue as a semi-NEET. Albeit with one day of class and six days off, I will still identify as NEET.

Enjoy being a Neet while it lasts, freedom and being able to sleep and rest as much as you want.
Thanks. I only have a month left. I've been NEETing since 2015. I've had brief stints in college every year, but they never lasted more than a few weeks. Longest I managed was six months in 2018, but that's the only time I managed for that long. I hope I don't drop out this time.

It sucks just when u thought u had things collected your way, but then you have to start over. Anyways, take your time, and do something part time
That's right. I was on such a good streak this year, I attended all my classes like I was supposed to. I had gotten the flu twice during my time in college, albeit the second time was because of my brother (he had come from overseas a few days prior and he was coughing constantly; not gonna lie, I respect him a lot for being able to fly while sick, because it's already difficult when you're healthy, let alone when you're sick and you're confined to a small space). I hadn't gone back after I got the second flu. Ultimately, however, it's better this way. Data science was not for me. STEM fields aren't, you're expected to maintain knowledge during your study, expand knowledge during your career and I don't have the brain for it, thanks to my insomnia which has affected my ability to memorize properly. Not to mention, the pay wasn't going to be all that good. Starting salaries were usually around $3,000 before taxes. And you were expected to a lot of work that I didn't see myself doing.

I miss university, you barely do anything, much better than working
Yeah, if everything goes well, I will be 32 by the time I graduate. However, I have to do a lot of internships as well.

I am around $70,000 in debt (and counting). No, I'm not American -- thank God. I live in the Netherlands. College is cheaper here, you pay $2,500 for one entire schoolyear. It was a bit cheaper a few years ago, when it was around $2,000 - $2,200 per year.

Because I'm cheating the system. I took out student loans, which they only give to full-time students. First, I apply for college, then I get accepted, then I drop out. But I don't formally drop out, so I'm still registered as a student, hence why I get money every month as a "student." Since I don't have a job, I was taking out student loans again to pay for my full-time study which I started in 2023, which I am still receiving because I haven't officially dropped out yet. I am going to become a part-time student, which means I'm not eligible for student loans, so I have to pay for it out of my own pocket. But since I don't have money, I have to take out student loans while I LARP as a full-time student. And before you ask --- yes, I'm a non-white. I've gotten paid four times, so while I technically should have $4,800 on my bank, in reality I have $1,600 right now. I'm paying college fees, I'm also clearing other, much smaller debts and I also do the groceries, so that's why I have less than I should be having. I have to be more careful with the money I spend, otherwise, at this rate, I will barely have enough for other things I wanna do. Out of the $1,600 I will have to spend a further $1,100 so in reality I am keeping only $500 to myself. Welp.

Unfortunately, you're right --- but my future job will also pay me while I enjoy vacations, so I guess it's a fair trade-off, no? :p

I'm Pakistani.

And I keep dropping out for different reasons. But one major reason for it was the fact I'd gotten so used to NEETing and not having a strict sleeping schedule to adhere to (waking up early/going to bed early) that I just wanted to go back to it. So I could only do that by dropping out. Another reason for me was that I lost motivation for whatever reason. Either it became boring, or I had to film myself for a course (I'm insecure about my bad looks) or because of situations out of my control; like when COVID-19 came and everytthing went digital, which I didn't like. But I'm going for a part-time study now. Last time I did this, I really enjoyed going to college! It was once a week after all. But then COVID-19 came, like I said, so I dropped out because I was too insecure to use my camera the entire time, you know? That's why.

College or NEETdom? To be fair, I have six days off so it's almost like I'm a full-time NEET.
NEETdom. tis a time to catch relax and forget the cruel worries of the wagecuck world.
