Is there a "right to sex?" Let me explain why I think this is a very frightening idea.
It is frightening because it reduces women to a commodity that can be distributed rather than people who can make our own decisions who we desire.
Nevertheless, there is a movement for the right to have sex. They call it sexual redistribution. It is being led by "incels." Incel stands for involuntary celibates. These are men who believe that women (by which they usually man attractive women) are withholding sex from them because of societal structures, feminism, or because women are just plain evil. They gather on website like 4chan to commiserate. Some of them are just pitiable creatures who don't know how to have a life without sex; they are given over to loneliness, and it makes them feel better to share their pain with others who have been similarly dismissed. But then there are others who seriously call for violence and rape. Many of these websites have had to be shut down because of this frightening advocation of violence against women
The sex redistribution movement became headlines when one incel, Elliot Rodgers, went on a killing spree, stabbing and shooting to death six people. He appeared to "have it all," (he certainly had a taste for the finer things in life) but he blamed women for his loneliness. He left a video-tape manifesto for his premeditated mass murder. He actually complained that he was still a virgin at 22, which is still pretty young. It was a case of entitlement rage gone ballistic, literally.
I am not unsympathetic to these men. Although I can find men who will have sex with me, I very much wanted to remarry after my divorce, and 25 years later I am still single. But honestly, I haven't let that dictate a terrible life. There is a lot to be happy about and I'm plenty fulfilled. And it's not like I get sex outside of marriage. Being a religious gal, I personally wish to keep sex within marriage. I have voluntarily gone without sex for 18 years now. Not only has it not killed me, but I have thrived.
It's not like going without sex isn't without it's problems. But then, having sexual relationships have their problems too. So really I just trade one set of problems for another.
The problem these men are having is not lack of sex. It is the lack of an identity apart from sex. They desperately need to develop meaningful lives.
