Depression Life is not a fairy tale and I find that hard to accept

I find it hard to accept that life is nothing but pain and suffering.
That life is nothing but grief and sadness, nothing but loss and reminiscing about what could've been done to prevent it.

We all reminisce and feel nostalgic because in a way it's just another way to escape the here and now, the NOW that is eternal.
I'm tired of pretending that simple things can make you smile beyond your childhood. It's not even funny how everybody else is putting on a fake smile to mimic the curiosity in a child's mind.

You'll never be the same as you were once you were a child.
Alcohol only helps until it doesn't and until it transforms you into an embarrassment.
Love won't help either.

It's all an illusion.
Your best bet is an afterlife. Which is more than likely not going to happen.
It's the only thing you've got. It's all you've got. And when you're met with disappointment for the last time, it'll be too late to feel pain.
