After having worked in a variety of shit jobs where no skills have been required other than being physically in shape and not handicapped, I can relate to people unwillingly unemployed.
The dynamics of getting employed resemble to a degree the dating market, you'll never be given a chance if you have no previous experience or have poor networking. Most jobs that do not require any particular set of skills go to either friends or family members of the already employed, such offers never get published by HR departments.
Being a wagie is no fun obviously, but in a commodified world where everything has a price tag you don't really stand much of a choice, such system necessitates wagecuckery but finding that job to secure some meager income to live on is an all in all horrible experience that leads nowhere for many.
