It's complete rubbish. Humans were never meant to have long time mates. Our anatomy is proof of this. Women have a limited amount of eggs while men have infinite sperm cells. As men we're meant to impregnate as many women as possible. We're not supposed to just settle down with one woman, have a few kids and then never reproduce again.
There is no such thing as a soul mate. You're not going to fall in love with someone and love them as much as you first did untill the day you die. Romance is simply a chemical reaction to the initial excitement of sexual arousel. With time that love will fade for you as a man which is completely natural.
