You know, islam does have alot of bad things going for it, like allowing polygamy, their prophet was a pedophile, mathematical errors in the quran etc etc
But i just accept that, to keep a sense of identiy
the thing that threw me over the edge is i kid you not the names of the prophets
So in the old testament/torah everythings written in hebrew, so the names are more reflections on their character, examples include:
Adam = "red" man since he was formed from the red ground
Noah (or Noach) = "rest" since he brought rest to the earth that god had cursed
Moses = "drawn out" because the Pharaoh’s daughter "drew him out of the water" and he "drew out" the Israelites
Abraham = "exalted father"
David = ""to love"
Jesus = "Yahweh saves"
etc etc etc
Now WTF does etymology have to do with anything?
the TLDR of the quran is that's its not supposed to be an addon to the bible, its supposed to be a straight up rewrite of the entire thing. So you'd think they're would be new fancy arabic names for these guys but nope, just given the exact same hebrew terms, just with arab pronounciation
adam, noah ,david, abraham, daniel Jerimiah etc etc
But the only people who get changed are Abraham, moses, and jesus who become musa and isa and Ibrahim . Seems like somebody wanted to make sure they weren't copying 1:1 by targeting the main dudes in other religions.
Now, you may be calling me a retard since "that's litterally their names brooo" But when you read the quran with the persepective of it being written by a merchant who heard all sorts of biblical stories and decided to copy them down it just becomes far too damning.
Just take surah al baqrah for example, the longest surah in the quran
It's doesn't have a central theme whatsoever, it goes from talking about adam and then calls for the killing of all kufr and how the disbelievers will be punished, to talking about abraham, and then calls for the killing of all kufr and how the disbelievers will be punished and then talking about Moses and this just repeats until the last few verses talks about heaven
My theory is that since Muhammad was a bussiness man, he heard a ton of stories, especially biblical ones and he took bits and pieces from both the torah and the bible and created his own thing, + added a ton of verses calling for the death of kufr and how jihading is cool. Since monotheism obviously makes much more sense then polytheism, a ton of people converted and are willing to die for him and allah, that's how islam spread so fast.
Another piece of evidence i have is that the quran just seems too convient for muhhammad is when he adopted his son Zaid, a verse came around that said you can marry your adopted son's wife. Strange
