On a more serious note, test HD throughput with a utility like HDtach. It tests for errors as well. Also make sure some process doesn’t hog the cpu @ 100% all the time. Is the HD SSD or plain old spinning HD?

tbh, used thinkpad must be the best laptop you can own in this day and age. Wish I was low inhib enough to trust buying one from random niggas online.
