America certainly works for the wealthy, as the income gap is ever-increasing.

But I'm not willing to say that America works for the poor middle-aged men. I fail to see how nationalism benefits the homeless, the jobless, the limbless veterans, and the virgin Americans.

But the wealthy who can benefit from the wars and the socioeconomic inequality are less nationalistic than the poor.

Something else I think plays a big role in modern day poorer/disenfranchised men supporting nationalism is the fact that modern day politicans, who put forth socialist arguments tend be pretty antiethical to social conservatism. Most young, white and poorer men tend to be anti immigration, etc. I think if those politicians were like the classic American trade unions then a lot of these men might have had different views.
