WTF I'm reading through disorders most of these overlap significantly.

AUTISM: Communication difficulties, empathy issues, anxiety, overwhelmed by things easily, slow thinking, fidgeting.
ADHD: Empathy issues, anxiety, fidgeting, slow thinking, impulsive, Anhedonia.
CPTSD: Feel worthless, emotional/empathy issues, communication difficulties, overwhelmed by things easily, flashbacks, fidgeting, Anhedonia.
Schizoid: Communication difficulties, empathy issues, anxiety, overwhelmed by things easily, Anhedonia.
BPD: Communication difficulties, empathy issues, erratic behaviour, overwhelmed by things easily, relationship troubles.
Depression: Communication difficulties, empathy issues, low mood, easily overwhelmed, anxiety and anhedonia.

So it's like... Astrology then? Do they just diagnose you with whateverthefuck they feel like?

"Sorry I'm such a Libra teehee. Since you're an Aquarius and your spiritual energy is low I'll just give you this magic stone!!! :feelsrainbow: "

"I'm a psychiatrist with ADHD. Since you have been diagnosed with Depression I'm putting you on Prozac which should help with serotonin reuptake!!! :feelsLSD:"

It all makes sense now.

they can have similar symptoms that work in different ways. for instance with both depression and bpd they can have very low mood and suicidal thoughts, but for people with depression it’s constant while with bpd it occurs in rotating episodes with mania. professionals do misdiagnosis things all the time, but if they know what issues you’re having they’ll likely find a treatment plan even if the diagnosis isn’t precise.

The scam aspect of psychology is that these labels don't accurately fit reality and they give a mistaken impression. If you believe that you're depressed or anxious, it becomes something of a self-fulfilling prophecy and distracts you from the real causes. Instead, when you're depressed, you have suboptimal neurotransmitter release and/or your hormones are suboptimal as well, usually by a large degree. You should think instead "Have I ate a good meal? Have I been sleeping well? When's the last time I exercised? What are some variables that could be causing my low neurotransmitter output and lowering my testosterone?" the reason why psychology is such a scam is that it takes it up to the mental level as if it's a separate plane of existence when it's a biological issue. If you fix the underlying biological issues, you fix the problem. Labels can be crippling if you believe in them too much, it makes it seem as if it's a permanent issue instead of a temporary issue caused by your biology.

i would consider psychology more an art than a science since much of it is based on interpretation. The field itself is very suspect yet worth reading into when it comes to ancient and proto/early psychology/sciences. here is a theory which likely relevant to the youth since the post industrial age
https://infogalactic.com/info/Refrigerator_mother_theory?useskin=vector

as with the scam part, 98% of the "psychology professionals" are worthless at best and drug pushers at worst. The sciences/medical fields on average are 90% money sinks

EDIT: Posting link on a decent breakdown on Scientism
https://vid.puffyan.us/watch?v=gFkAKDV8UFY
It's a pseudoscience. Psychologists never helped me.
it is funny many "pseudosciences" are actually becoming more relevant and applicable while modern medicines are likely to bankrupt or kill you before improving your wellbeing

Why Aspergers/Autism is 95% BS [mini-rant]

EDIT/UPDATE/DISCLAIMER: It has been 2 years since this post was made (damn does time fly by fast!) and I just wanted to clarify some things since this journal is still getting a lot of attention. First off, to put it frankly, I was pissed. Like REALLY pissed off at the Western medical care system and how it profits heavily off of how many people have a diagnosable illness which can be 'managed' instead of treated. This applies across the board from mental to physical health - why cure someone when you can make money off of them for a lifetime? Why break down a psychological barrier to help someone overcome themselves when you can prescribe them Zoloft instead? I am of course not saying ALL people in these fields are moneygrubbing scumbags, and sometimes prescriptions IS the best answer, I just find it disturbing that we are living in a time WHERE SO MANY PEOPLE suddenly have an incurable, lifetime, mental and/or physical issue and began noticing a pattern among certain demographics (mainly artists and introverts). And by 'suddenly' I mean the last couple decades, you can look at census data and see a huge spike in mental issues like aspergers and autism over the past 30 years.

Could it be overdiagnosing? Most likely. Could it be the vaccinations? IDK, can't speak on that, but I wouldn't be surprised if it were to be proven as a contributing factor. Either way, I went off my rocker and wrote this journal after some research for a Psych course I happened to be taking in college. I still stand by my words, I just want to put this in perspective. It isn't an attack on the entire medical industry, or claiming anyone's illness is 'fake', I just want to point out the systemic issues potential misdiagnosis's create and studies have already been conducted for this very reason. In fact here is an article from The APA, where a PhD Psychologist brings to the forefront the problem with expanding the definitions of ADHD that intersect with other mental disorders, as well as questioning the possible factors leading to misdiagnosing children and teens.

Hinshaw's words in this statement made my skin crawl:
"Finally, we decided to look outside of psychology and outside of the health-care system because inside it, we couldn't explain the discrepancies. [What we are surmising] is that policy had an indirect influence over these diagnoses. We found that during the late 1980s and throughout the 1990s, several states passed consequential accountability laws, which basically changed the philosophy of schools: Instead of funding schools based on the number of students in them, funding became based on their students' standardized math and reading test scores. Schools were rewarded for doing better. At the same time, standardized test scores in the South were the lowest in the nation — and as a result, these states didn't get as much funding.
That's when we knew we were onto something, because if you want to improve test scores, one way of doing that is to have children diagnosed so you can get extra money from the school district to help tutor them or put them in smaller classes. Basically, you diagnose these kids because improving their performance helps the school's performance.
Some states even allowed you to take students diagnosed with ADHD out of the pool that was used to judge your school, with the understanding that these kids probably perform lower, and if you have more of them, that shouldn't be held against you. "

^ That is the kind of misdiagnosis based upon greed that pisses me right the F off.

...............................................

*WARNING; THE WORD 'FUCK' IS USED MORE TIMES THAN I CAN COUNT.
That's right, Ima say it, someone's gotta say it. It's BULLSHIT most if not all of the time, and I'm pretty certain it's a modern day scam that specifically targets concerned parents' of youth who often classify as the 'unpopular kids.' It became concerning to me (honestly) ever since I had to complete an essay on the condition(s) <[just out of curiosity] for a psychology course last semester, there is NO WAY IN HELL so many people should be diagnosed with aspergers/autism when in fact they're literally just either;

(a) Independent thinkers
(b) escapists
(c) introverts

- or [the most common]-
(d) flat out going through the fucking motions of growing up.

^That's what these 'diagnosis' mainly target and then next thing you know the kids/teens in question are prescribed a bunch of mind-altering prescription drugs that could potentially create a mental issue they wouldn't have otherwise acquired. The reason I say it's 95% and not full on 100% BS is because a small fraction of people do legitimately have this 'condition' (these are often the cases classified as low functioners' - whereas 'high functioners' are essentially normal fucking people) that causes them to have really poor speech patterns, no grip on reality, banging their heads against walls and shit, etc. But for the majority of cases these are normal people who've been tricked into believing they're what is known as a 'high functioning' autistic/aspergers.

You can look at the symptoms and tell that it's BS:

1) A failure to act properly for social norms ie; displaying selective mutism, speaking not at all to most people and excessively to specific people. Some may choose only to talk to people they like.

^ THIS IS LITERALLY EVERY FUCKING PERSON ON THE PLANET. People as a species are naturally programmed to be this way, dealing with friends, family, co-workers (people whom we've developed a relationship with) 99% of the time are the MAIN people we talk to and socialize with. We are pack animals in a way. As a social standard we acknowledge strangers with a 'hi' or 'hello' out of courtesy but it is NOT unusual for strangers to go 'mute' around people they don't know and/or have zero interest in. Especially those who have a low class v.s. high class mentality (ex; the rich girl at Starbucks who deliberately ignores everyone unless necessary because 'they're not on her level')

2) May analyze and distill their observations of social interaction into rigid behavioral guidelines. Sometimes resulting in the desire for companionship becoming numbed through failed encounters.

^ First off following 'rigid behavioral guidelines' is something virtually everyone does. There's a reason you talk differently amongst your friends than you do with your parents or boss. If you don't adopt (observe) the set social guidelines society has placed on us, you will find yourself in more awkward situations than need be. There's of course room to be yourself but only when the situation applies. In childhood everyone has 'training ground' for social networking in the outside world, yes, sometimes after so many failed attempts humans tend to get anxiety and quit. This isn't a isolated trait of any condition. It's called you grew up in a environment where people weren't very kind/open to you - because honestly when your that young once a similar interest is established (barbies, Pokemon, fart jokes, etc) making friends is a cake walk. This is often what creates introverts; they didn't get the lovey-dovey friendship experience and end up learning how to entertain themselves. NOT a psychological disorder as some would like to claim.

3) Show interest in few activities and obsess over the ones they do.

^ DOESN'T EVERY FUCKING BODY??! Ask any given person on the street what they enjoy doing and chances are they do that list of things as often as they can (a form of obsession) because it brings them enjoyment. Once habits form, it's rare more are incorporated, that's why we've term(s) like 'dare-devils', 'thrill seekers' and 'risk takers' because majority of people are afraid of unfamiliarity. Some activities in question also carry the weight of potential future opportunities, this is the case with most artistic fields (film, graphic design, photography) and a certain portion of you has to 'obsess' over it to some degree because without that motivational drive you will eventually lose interest, stop progressing and quit. 'Obsession' is the reason people like Steve Jobs, Walt Disney, and Stan Lee are successful entrepreneur's - yet before all the glory they were viewed as obsessive with delusional goals. Which leads into another 'symptom' >

4) Often have interest in some form of artistic activity and tend to enjoy creating fantasy worlds rather than live in reality.

^ Alrighty. So your an artist? Furthermore a good portion of you are artists' who use your skill as a sort of escapism? AND THIS IS A PROBLEM HOW??? Lets make this clear; ALL PEOPLE ENJOY SOME FORM OF ESCAPISM , because if we don't and just go through the pressure of life responsibilities and hardships with no form of emotional/mental release you will go fucking insane - or become suicidal, whichever comes first. I hate this one the most, because it automatically wants to label the 'creatives' (people prone to use the right side of the brain) with some kind of predisposition. If you are unable to 'detach' from reality and create your own good luck making a amazing fantastical story like Harry Potter, Star Wars, The Matrix, The Hunger Games, etc. even something more grounded in reality like a new scientific invention or sneaking into Bring Me The Horizon backstage requires some form of creative thinking incorporating what you already know/learned to something no-one has attempted. There is a difference between enjoying the immersion of a fantasy-movie like Zootopia - and then wanting to act out everyday as if you really fucking LIVE in Zootopia. < however this same logical thinking shouldn't be applied to children under 10 (the age-range people commonly mislabel autistic/aspergers); when we're young we naturally attach to things, sometimes for months until something else takes priority - its part of being a damn kid.

5) Aren't very popular in school, doesn't fit in ie; loners.

^ This is literally marked as a 'symptom' - being unpopular. Particularity in Highschool. Its fucking ridiculous and makes me wonder exactly WHAT parent would listen to this sad excuse? Being popular and/or well liked by the student body isn't exactly something earned from being the nicest kid on the block, or even being the most bad-ass kid on the block, its earned by being an overconfident, pretentious, narcissistic, insecure, judgmental asshole. Doesn't matter if your in private or public school, THAT is the main prototype. The only other way to 'get in' is by means of some great talent everyone knows about or being that 'it' person in any given sports team or club. Not to mention since WHEN did NOT fitting in become an issue? Last time I checked it was encouraged to be brave enough to be yourself at this stage of life, not conform. Sadly, instead of taking into account the person has probably become socially withdrawn as a response maneuver to failed friendships, bullying, unacceptance(which can be anything from being gay to dressing different) and/or emotional issues in the home, nooooooooo you got a mental condition! Here's some pills to make you happy! This is a part of growing up. Highschool especially is a milestone that many rather not revisit because growing up meant facing a reality of douchebaggery and insecurity with some good times sprinkled in between.

6) Often use a lot hand gestures and facial movement during conversation.

^ And? SO? In that case that means a lot of Italians and African people must be autistic/aspergers because boy-oh-boy do they love to emphasize what they're saying with hand movements and facial expression! This isn't a damn symptom of anything, it's called being fucking expressive when you talk, instead of a cardboard cut-out.

7) Have a general lack of sympathy for others.

^ This can be related to a number of things, but often, a general lack of being sympathy is either (1) your a self-absorbed asshole (2) your a sociopath or (3) you've been through some shit and apply sympathy when you deem it truly necessary. Most people labelled as autistic/aspergers fall in line with category (3) which to a person like me whose been through some shit of her own, is easy to understand. After life throws you a few punches you tend to not fall down and cry for every little thing that happens to you or others - life has taught you too be stronger than that. People with this kind of thinking will be there for you emotionally if your dog dies, or you were unrightfully hurt/humiliated, etc. BUT DO NOT expect them to give a fuck about your day being ruined because you broke-up with that person everyone warned you about months ago.

8) 1 out of 10 adults shed Autism/Aspergers by their mid 20's.

^ I love this...It literally discredits so much without even realizing it...unfuckingbelieavable. Wonder whyyyy that is? Could it be because most of the symptoms representative of these two conditions are that of normal fucking growing pains in life!? And by the time your 20-something you've figured shit out by then and are (maybe) less awkward than before!?? Amazing! I didn't know people could overcome their emotional burdens and move on with a fully functional life!
------------------------------------
So now I'm gonna stop here. Because to dissect everything wrong would be a Ph.D thesis paper, but you get the point.
Posted it here on DA because there are a lot of artist on here who (of course) are 'supposedly' q-o-q autistic/aspergers and when you examine how they act/speak/talk it doesn't add up.
So again, there are people who LEGITIMATELY have issues, but for the most part kids/teens being labelled with these conditions generally DONT have them, the system is pigeonholing specific personality types, not taking into account each individual is unique and people aren't cut-outs, but for some odd reason their parent's aren't thinking for themselves and blindly believe the doctor whose now prescribing them psychological drugs that could cause more harm than good.

FUCKING STAHP.

I'm an adult and I'm still autistic.

Still I will never really know if I am actually autistic. My entire life has been one episode of trauma after another so it's far more likely I have crippling C-PTSD. I can never be sure because of the overlapping symptoms.

My interest in AI has led to many interesting conclusions when it comes to understanding autism in general. If you train an LLM on poor data it will generate flawed responses. If you're an ugly kid from a loveless household, your experiences with strangers and family will be fundamentally different. You will observe a cold, unresponsive world with people that bully you - nobody will show you how to display adequate social skills - and I think that is the problem. My hypothesis is that autistic people have a combination of strange facial phenotype alongside cold or traumatic childhoods. When people treat them coldly and harshly this is all they know, and so they are 'trained' to be cold and polarized themselves. They are trained to be monotropic, to seek intense interests as compensation for their defects (a social safety net) and for escapism, and this becomes a positive feedback loop. I don't think it's a coincidence that symptoms of Autism overlap heavily with CPTSD.

So it's like... Astrology then? Do they just diagnose you with whateverthefuck they feel like?

"Sorry I'm such a Libra teehee. Since you're an Aquarius and your spiritual energy is low I'll just give you this magic stone!!! :feelsrainbow: "
Well who do you think invented astrology, females? It was autistic males (my bad, schizophrenic males - autists can't understand people) that came up with that. And it was never focused on "personalities" to that extent that it is now.

Does this look female energy to you?
Birth chart components

It fucking doesn't.

Here's a Youtube channel by a baldcel that has dedicated rougly 10,000 hours talking about astrology as if it's science (with other people just like him) https://www.youtube.com/@TheAstrologyPodcast/videos

Briggs and Myers, mother and daughter, are credit with forging "MBTI" types - but it sounds like backwater America appropriating European books; which, in turn, were a re-telling of old Antiquity tales. I have smacked poor INTJ @hikikomori stuck in "I'm a schizo they are NPCs" loop with that. He's still reeling.

Jews were able to wiggle their way in as European intellectuals. Demons of smart.

Psychology witch doctor do indeed do astrology - the difference is that they hold "M.D." title and deal with mostly dysfunctional or misbehaving people.

What makes you think you aren't one? "Non-NT" as everyone here is.

Interesting. Thank you for the response. If this Venn Diagram is to be believed then I am Schizoid and Non-NT ya.
I did not know about the deep underpinnings of Astrology, perhaps it is worth looking into after all. I did not mean to imply only women study astrology, but I tend to see it more often from them.

I hate how therapists ask me to focus on myself as if the problems affecting me in life will go away when their causes are external and out of my control.

My genetics and mental conditions loaded the gun but life pulled the trigger.

You should also consider the business/politics side of it. It makes a lot of money to sell medications to people who believe they are sick. If a country has a large pharmaceutical industry, it'd benefit from twisting meanings and making it easier for people to self-diagnose in order to justify more sales of medications you dont really need. It's kind of paranoid "DA JOOOS" type of thinking but it is very plausible that the recent years of people seemingly becoming more mentally unstable may all be engineered on purpose

they do overlap and the retarded professionals misdiagnose people all the time.

mine is so rare they get it confused with other conditions and dont even think it exists.
