Starting today, and from now on until the end of season 3, I'll be doing a discussion thread every Sunday. I know new episodes come out on Wednesdays, but I don't want someone to get spoiled so I'll wait until Sunday to make the thread for the newest episode. Also I didn't do one last Sunday so this one should cover episodes 1 and 2.
Episode 1
I had already read on the light novels about half of the things that happened on this episode, I already knew there was a timeskip and I already knew they were gonna visit Venice. It was still awesome to see it animated, I like how Subaru has a whip now, so I guess he's gonna be slave owner. Julius' brother does look quite a bit like him, and I think it's adorable how much he looks up to his brother, makes me feel jealous of people who have little brothers, I've only got a little sister and she treats me like shit. I kind of like how much Mimi likes Garfiel, xd but I have seen people talk about how they should be a couple and I am like wtf, she's literally a child, it would just be awkward as hell. Garfiel running all the way into Priestella was also pretty slick. I have no idea how in the hell Anastasia learned about Puck and how Emilia needed the crystal to be honest, I also don't understand how come Emilia can't use just about any magic crystal. I get that Puck is a powerful spirit, but like come on. I heard that ln readers don't like Liliana, but I actually like her, also I think they cut in the anime, but in the light novel they explain Liliana actually lived in the Roswaal mansion for a while, or something like that I don't remember. This nigga Regulus showing up unprompted was really scary, I was thinking "Please Subaru don't say anything dumb in front of this man". Reinhard destroying Garfiel's confidence was something I didn't expect, I mean in season 2 Garfiel hints at the fact that Reinhard is one of the greatest to ever live, Subaru even says "Wow you must be pretty impressive for there to be legends about you while you're still alive", but somehow Garfiel is surprised Reinhard is stronger? xdd I guess he's just a kid. Anyways, Heinkel is an asshole, but I think I'll grow to like him. Finally Sirius is like top waifu, she's so cute, her mannerism, they way she talks, her cute voice. And let's face it, she is definitely Fortuna (Emilia's aunt), I mean she's obsessed with Petelgeuse, even took his last name, and also she has elf ears and white hair, like need I say more? Aparently this theory hasn't been confirmed or denied even in the latest arcs of the light novel...
Episode 2
I think it was dumb of Subaru to try and solve the issue by himself during the second attempt. I get that he doesn't want to put his friends in danger unless he absolutely must, but like c'mon Subaru, what did you think you were going to do? Apparently in the light novel this is much more epic, since Subaru actually fights Sirius for a while. The third try, with Reinhard, people are saying that it goes to show that having the strongest character doesn't always help, since "not even Reinhard can win in this situation", but I think this is dumb and Subaru should not give up on Reinhard just yet. All Reinard has to do is take her to a place where she can't link herself with other people, I don't know just jump 5 kilometers into the air or someting, I am pretty sure he can do that. Subaru did give up on Reinhard though and decided to use Betty and Emilia, and I actually have no idea how in the hell is Emilia not affected by Sirius ability. I do find this weird, usually Subaru is the one who is immune to the authorities of the archbishops, he was able to see the unseen hand and he was able to still remember Rem even after Gluttony ate all memories of her. And yet Subaru is just as susceptible as everyone else when it comes to Sirius' ability, but Emilia is not. Reinhard I understand being immune since the dude is just broken, but why Emilia too? Anyways, I do want to see that wedding between Regulus and Emilia, Subaru will get cucked and I am not sure he can do anything about it.
