It is like a look into your ancestral past, both on .net and other boards. Interesting to see users discuss upcoming manga, anime or video games that have since released, and other shit back in the day. Yet we all still have the same problems and same perspective.
Most users that are frequenting here currently will likely have moved on in life a few years from now. Wonder how much the forum culture will change in the future.

This is in context to the western internet btw. East Asia and most of the third world only had proper internet by the late 2000s and their corner of it was kickin' until at least 2018. East Asia/Russia is still walled off in their own corner but other places like Brazil, India, MENA countries etc have since been absorbed into the blob of American giants. Iran has its own clone of YouTube but it isn't very popular compared to the regular YouTube despite the ban. China and Korea have their own clones for basically any western service but twitter is still very popular. Can't fight the American giants (⁠ ⁠≧⁠Д⁠≦⁠). It's unfortunate that these few sites have completely dominated the web that even non English speakers use it far more regularly than their local counterparts. We've had internet in the Arab gulf far earlier than any of our neighbours yet I've never heard of local forums or anything similar. We just use western ones and speak Arabic to filter out lmao

There are still some 2020 neets here if you look at incels there are people who have been there since 2017 and even before that they were active on the incel subreddit until it got banned
