So i just finished 10th grade and plan to start job corps at 16 in july to learn a trade ( ive said this 15 times) after that i plan to join the military at 17 for 4 years then start private military contracting at 21 that WAS the plan, but then i thought after i get out of the military i'll have the gi bill and home loan bill meaning i'll be able to go to college for free but i'll already have learned a trade in job corps so i really see a point to go to college besides " muh socializing" but ill already have gotten that in the military and job corps still it be nice to have a diploma on top of a trade thoughts

yeah and itll all be payed for ( by the government) and by the time im 21 i'll already have been on my own for 5 years so prolly wil have better social skills in college

Let's make things clear, and please, ignore the other comments above this one because not only they're low effort but they are really not worth your time.

Everyone goes to college nowadays, so... if you're not exceptionally intelligent, I would say DON'T for obvious reasons. Allow me to elaborate: making a career out of STEM having plain average intelligence will result in failure (can talk from experience), you'll never understand the "mechanics" behind Calculus and other fields of mathematics (because average intelligent people are not wired to see "patterns" unlike intelligent individuals) and stressing over an industry where COGNITIVE ABILITIES prevail over 'hard work' (utilizing your cognitive abilities to your maximum capacity) isn't worth it either way.

Okay, so... don't get higher education. You'll lose money.

If he's within the average range, DO NOT WASTE MONEY ON AN ENGINEERING DEGREE. It's an oversaturated field with many graduates that would instantly outcompete you, and people who have completed a 4-year engineering course do not often succeed (unless you graduate from a relatively not-so popular college).

Also here real IQ tests are mandatory before you get to HS. And believe me these IQ tests take immensely long and are very accurate (multiple 2 hr sessions over multiple days)
