Should you love your parents unconditionally just because they're your parents?

Even if they're bad people or did a poor job in raising you, are you obliged to look past their flaws and failures just because they gave you life and provided how ever much they did?

Fuck no. Having kids is selfish.
Have fun with your 80 years of 99% misery and 1% enjoyment.

When you move out and become independent, they'll become needy and wish you'd come to see them more often. They might be good people and would be nicer to you but it's human nature to go crazy seeing the same faces every fucking day. They'll pay more attention to you and spend more time thinking about you when you are not there anymore. Your father probably would be a better person if he didn't ruin his life by starting a family. Show empathy and raise above them. Forgive them and don't let them have power over you. It's a mental battle, never let anyone hold you back on what you believe in. You feel much better later on when you close that chapter of your life. There will be people you become hate much more. Your parents are ants in your future.

Mine financially supports me, but they also keep me isolated and they are insane/stupid so they also kind of ruined lots of things for me.
It's hard for me not to be thankful because without them I would be homeless, but it's also hard to like people described by others as narcistics.
