The concept is similar to punpun. How depression and trauma can turn a guy into an asshole who can't escape cycles that by adulthood are self-imposed

But its millenilol irony bro garbage, whereas punpun is genuine sentimentality and heart breaking melodrama

I watched it when it came out several years ago and binge watched it and enjoyed it but if I rewatched it, I think I would dislike it, for similar reasons Riddler pointed out. I enjoyed it because I was depressed heavily at the time, thinking back to some of the characters, they were very annoying. I'm thinking of all the bits against racism and sexism, with that annoying as fuck feminist character.

i liked it, all the characters were druggy trash people and SJWs which is probably what hollywood was like in 2013. i didn't sympathize with any of their whining but it kept my attention and i used it as backround noise to play FPS games for a while

It's not meant to be gratifying or wish fulfilling. You can't put it side-by-side with something like Tokyo ghoul

Like if you wanna say Vinland Saga sucks you can compare it to kingdom. But idk if there's a better version of punpun

Mishima is based. Need to read more of him. I want to read Runaway horses but I know it's suggested to read spring snow before that but I really don't like romance and don't wanna spend to much time on it.

it dragged itself for too long. The final season had no clear direction. I feel like everything it tried to do was copy moral orel but orel did it way better with more subtlety and Nuance.
