Proverbs 21
3 To do righteousness and justice
is more desirable to the LORD than sacrifice.
Proverbs 14
34 Righteousness exalteth a nation, And the goodliness of peoples is a sin-offering.
Ecclesiastes 5
1 Be careful what you do when you go to the temple of God; draw near to listen rather than to offer a sacrifice like fools, for they do not realize that they are doing wrong.
Hosea 8
11Although Ephraim has built many altars for sin offerings,
these have become altars for sinning!
I spelled out my law for him in great detail,
but they regard it as something totally unknown to them!
They offer up sacrificial gifts to me,
and eat the meat,
but the Lord does not accept their sacrifices.
Soon he will remember their wrongdoing,
he will punish their sins,
and they will return to Egypt.
Isaiah 66
2“This is the one I will esteem:
he who is humble and contrite in spirit,
who trembles at My word.
Whoever slaughters an ox is like one who slays a man;
whoever sacrifices a lamb is like one who breaks a dog’s neck;
whoever presents a grain offering is like one who offers pig’s blood;
whoever offers frankincense is like one who blesses an idol.
Indeed, they have chosen their own ways
and delighted in their abominations.
