Discussion Theres no such thing as male friends

Honestly its my fault for not realizing this sooner. Theres no such thing as male friends, it doesn't exist. You at best have drinking buddies or something. Men are always trying to one up eachother given the dominance instinct. You can't have a real friendship with another male, only an alliance. If you try to have a real friendship with another guy they will resent you and constantly try to undermine you to break free from such a thing.

Every man for himself at the end of the day, of course you have allys but not "friends". Only women can really have friends.

Realizing this has made me feel better and I now think I can take male interactions less seriously. In a way thats real friendship in a weird way, acknowledging that they can never be "friends" with you, but you appreciate them for what they can bring (gaming, drinking buddies etc)

I've got a few friends and we don't do some back and forth dominance thing. It depends on the person like always, I've had a few "friends" that don't really care for me much as a person and just wanted to use me for drugs or money, and others that'd give me a few grand if I asked them to and if I was in a rough situation. The latter are real friends, if you're willing to do the same for them. The people willing to use you or view you as someone to one up are snakes. I don't really have a big friend circle, and unfortunately I have some snakes and some good friends in it, it varies.

I do see where you're coming from, if it's someone I don't know or care about in the slightest, sure, I want to dominate and win in a competition. But if it's even an acquaintance, I don't have that drive and I want them to succeed, because I know we can both win, see: the multiple people on this forum that now or soon will have offspring after I taught them some tricks.

These aren't my "allies", they really have nothing whatsoever to return to me. But so what? Does everything in existence have to be profit or ego motivated? Those are both fun to do at times for sure, and I do both of them, but there is more to life.
