Read a few passages now and although he has a nice way with words I can't pretend he isn't just coping hard heavy coper.
One of the first "philosophy authors" I picked up was Lev Shestov, Russian Jewish writer sperging out on religious matters and alternatingly going through Thomas Aquinas and Dante Alighieri. He was famous at the time and reportedly talked with Heidegger, Husserl, Bataille (but could be Jewish bragging).
