Depends on your preferences and weeb tolerance tbh. I like thriller VNs. I may be a little biased toward Steins;Gate. If you have a lot of patience and resistance to weeb cringe the 07th expansion VNs are quite fun and contain some interesting ideas/mysteries.

Otherwise I like the Zero Escape Trilogy due to Uchikoshi's insane writing style. If you prefer more melancholic romantic stuff then studio key visual novels like CLANNAD are good. Some people like Type-Moon VNs like Fate or Witch of the Holy Night but personally they weren't my cup of tea although still decent reads.
