First half of the show was fine, waifus are good but Its basically an Evangelion wanna-be with shittier writing and stupid ending. Creatures and mechs were also uncreative and forgettable most of the time. It tried too hard to be deep in some parts but it just didnt work out for me.

I am glad you enjoyed it, I`d enjoy it more if I hadnt seen Eva first. I heard about an older anime called RahXephon. It seems similar to this and Eva. I wonder if its good.

It was just alright I'd say, nothing quite worth writing home about. The weird alien beings and 01 were such random additions I don't know why the director chose this as an anime original ending, the only reason you'd only care about the ending is because you dropped 24 episodes onto it, none otherwise.
Also it had such weird episodes, like that Subaru clone guy cucking the fatass and stealing the blondie from him whilst he gets a weird lesbian looking girl in return.
