You do it denBest anime to watch is Going Outside and Touching Grass. It's boring like the usual stuff but it's definitely worth it.

I didn't watched the old Urusei Yatsura, but old Ranma is pure gold.Watch the old Ranma and the old Lum too both are 10/10, new Lum was mid and I bet new Ranma is mid in comparison
I do believe there's a lot of good anime that comes out but it's very hard to remake an older anime because culture and society has changed ever since. I believe a lot of it has to do with the normal socialization process people had in the 70s-80s-90s vs now, where most Japanese are incels (something like 50% of men and women don't fuck) so they project too much of their loserness (no better way to put it) into an anime. You always see the MC that pisses and cums his pants the second a woman touches his hands in modern anime vs older anime like City Hunterin which the MC is confident in himself and approaches a woman organically. They're not afraid of women. Media you watch or play is a reflection of the people who make it, so if you think there's no more nice things, or you disagree with the tropes or themes in modern anime, it's more a criticism of an alienated Japanese society with few/no friends with no bitches.I didn't watched the old Urusei Yatsura, but old Ranma is pure gold.
Even though they ripped off the ecchi, I still think it can be very good in terms of comedy, but I admit that the ecchi will be missed.
It's a shame we can't have nice things anymore

Men in the 70s-80s could make insane scifi anime with geopolitical themes or laidback chill characters that are confident because that was the aura of the times. People weren't so neurotic and lonely, objectively speaking, back then. There still is good anime I'd argue but it is also undeniable to not see modern anime as a reflection of modern Japan, the same can be said of American TV shows/movies/games. The trend in American society is liberalism, Hollywood is liberal, video game companies are overwhelmingly liberal, so we get watered down content that's safe for all audiences, lest we offend someone.
A movie like this will never get made now by Hollywood. But this is without a doubt a cult classic. You cannot be afraid to offend your audience, audiences want to be offended, they want edgy humor, they want characters that are cool, they don't want a loser character that's a random black trans character that rambles about Marxism
