You should play the Higurashi & Clannad VN. While the anime adaptations are great, the VNs surpass them in their amount of content and presentation.

The anime you listed contains some of the best and popular ones tbh, most hold them in the highest regard.

However, I thought Btooom! was kinda stale; I dropped it after the 2nd or 3rd episode.

I enjoy psychological and avant-garde anime, so I'll ask if you've watched Evangelion or Lain since they are among my favorites.

For me, in general, it is difficult to rank anything because stories can't all be grouped in the same category. It is like comparing apples to oranges, e.g. ranking Toradora versus Code Geass.

You should play the VNs thoroughly, they add a plethora of content that is not existent in the adaptations.

I may pick up Btooom! again, but it didn't interest me all that much.

You should continue to watch Evangelion, its themes are subtle and slower, it should make you contemplative.
