It's so much more than just making money. It's locking yourself into a social caste and choosing your group of peers/friends. You see guys all the time guys that have remote jobs with 6 figures great pay college degree yet they have literally no friends don't leave their house & don't have anything fun spend their money on. You want to choose a job where you have a great ratio of men to women, preferably highly educated, and work pretty long in person hours. This is how you win at life.

I saw this hella as a kid in school. Male teachers would be making like 35k a year. Basically shit tier but they'd pull a baddie that worked at the same school and constantly be on vacations, field trips, having fun with coworkers in the break room, whatever.

holy cope i refuse to believe anyone who makes 6 figures (after tax) actually gives a shit about friends and women, there's no way if they actually do they're a retarded nigger and should give me money since it's apparently not making them happy

The only people left here are mentally ill and deranged freaks who are hard locked from having fulfilling social circles and decent careers, for the most part.
Except for you my handsome fren

In general, it's hard to form social connections in this increasingly digitized society. People cope a lot in a variety of ways, but it is important to remember that it is a cope. If only I had a job, I would have a fulfilling social life! Do you know how many workerbees I've heard that have said "If only I had free time, I would have a good social life!" and you can see the perspective from both arguments, but what they're both missing is that it's uncomfortable to be pushed outside of your comfort zone and most people in society (and myself included, a lot of the times) refuse to be pushed outside of their comfort zone. I suppose it's because we're raised in societies that by itself, is full of copes and illusions more so than any other time in history. If you feel like piss, you can always take SSRIs and dull yourself, or any other myriad of narcotics. The never ending illusion is escaping reality vs accepting suffering, and in a weak society like ours, many people, myself including, decide to escape from suffering in a second, even if the long-term consequences are rather painful.

The ratio at your job won't mean anything if you don't approach other people and aren't willing to accept the risk of being ostracized, embarrassed, made fun of, or whatever your mind tells you will happen. The money doesn't matter much, it really doesn't, there's homeless people with better social lives than half this forum. It is that one has, in an abstract way, has accepted pain. When I really internalize this, my life goes well. When I push this understanding away, I'm alone in a dark room, out of my mind on some drug rotting my brain away, blaming others for my own flaws, wishing for the sweet release of death. And when you live enough of this type of lifestyle, it's only natural to wish to die. But it doesn't have to be that way.
