I nearly drowned in a lake. I was dared (more like peer pressured) to try and swim across by my "friends" at the time. There were some females present in our little group, who also egged me on. Made it about half way and my clothes started to feel heavy and my head started bobbing under the water no matter how much I kicked and paddled. Eventually some good samaritan saw me struggling and threw a life ring from one of the docks and legit saved my life. I looked back and my "friends" were laughing the whole damn time. In hindsight, I sometimes wonder if they were truly trying to kill me. They were older than me and surely would have known I would not make it across. And oddly, after that incident THEY stopped talking to ME. No apology, no nothing.
