How anything changes in the know universe is determined solely by everything happening to, and within it, at any given moment; but that's just the nature of time.

"Free will" is no less real than your experience of self, and it isn't nullified by the the fact that everything is technically predetermined, because it's all the same system.

In other words, the control you have over your life isn't fake, because your consciousness (which, I argue, doesn't exist outside of your body) is also part of the system; and thus, your "freedom" is accounted for to every extent.

Luck being the greatest factor to success remains true, and such is unfortunate.

TLDR: you aren't just an observer making constatations, but a fully integrated being.
