In one half, because they can, I met a chick like that who put on façades that met their character and yet the people allowed it. In essence, because they want to and act upon that kind of behavior with people who will accept it and take it. The second half can be because they are acting out on others, they are doing so because they hate themselves and want to inflict psycho-social stress on others.
