My belief is that people project onto you or whoever because they see something in you that they hate about themselves.

If projections were to cease existence we would all be less fucked up, I’d like to assume that society is responsible for this.

What are your thoughts on this?

My guess is, it's like watching someone else play a game.

If you've never played it yourself, it won't take much to impress you, as you won't yet fully understand the gameplay mechanics.

On the other hand, if you've played a game for years and watch someone new to it, you can immediately notice their every mistake, as you will already have learned what those are, meaning that watching their gameplay will most likely be frustrating, unless you're doing it light-heartedly.

It's true most of the time, but sometimes when people project, they are bringing you down to their level. Differentiating between the two is key.
