I outline three possibilties:
1. Biologically I can't really "Feel" death. Heidegger talks about this , where younger people are closer to the point of non Being (birth) than the other non Being (Death) so theyre closer to nothingness of the beginning than the nothingness of Death eliminating a sense for the latter.
2. My cultural background has biologically imbibed me with a disregard for death. Again, I dont believe in Tabula Rasa and believe we have different propensities already outlined at birth. Since I come from a pagan background, where reincarnation is a curse rather than a blessing , I take the former as de facto and fear LIfe more than death.
3. Ernst Becker rationalising, where death is just an abstract concept to me and cant really "Feel" it again,/ subconsciously intellectualise it etc but I doubt this cos when I doze off to sleep I dont really feel any anxiety or despair. I cannot possibly imagine ( quite possibly literally/ incapable from the outlet ) why death would not be a similar experience albeit w a slightly different bag of emotons in the mix.
I cannot understand why people put death on a pedestal as a huge deal, especially since they arent really looking at life in a negative light like Buddhists etc. IMO Life is much more scary and dangerous.
