Why is this forum so atomized?

You have an active, tight knit community where everyone knows each other yet this forum is awfully slow on average and users end up splitting into discord or DM cliques. This place should ideally be an active community where good discussions and cage-inducing chats occur on a hourly basis, but those are a dime a dozen here.

What can be done to make this forum less atomized and more vibrant?

I disagree, I think this place has potential and interesting personalities which can be put to good use. Problem is that the environment of this forum keeps this place stuck in an atomized state, I hear that there have been plenty of quality chats in GCs but it rarely translates to forum posts.

If only .net had the same activity as .org did, while retaining the same unique community feel this place has to offer.

Too much of a good thing is a bad thing. These downtimes lead to the cagefuel and discussions being much more entertaining when they do happen. The low activity is a blessing in disguise imo. People are probably just busy jacking off rn but once the clarity hits they'll come in here with the most thought provoking discussions one can see. It's good to have a few weeks of downtime before it pops up than a constant stream of JFL reacts. Too much activity would stink up the board and make it stale faster

Image boards for one were big due to the large mix of personalities ranging from shut-in rejects to normies just passing the time and shitposting. An environment has to be created where anyone can thrive and contribute to discussions.

There should be a balance in activity, it should neither be too fast paced like .org is but it shouldn't run at a snails pace like this forum. It can be rope fuel to see how spread apart and dead this community is despite it having like 20 active users at any given moment, similar to your average suburban community in the US.

I'd say it's basically a minefield where there's a userbase logging on but you have to prod them into discussion

Think of it like Twitter. A feed can be slow but someone makes an edgy or controversial post and the thread gets tons of activity

You don't have to. Rip a quote from a random book and pretend you understand it nobody will tell. They'll over analyse it and run away with theories doing the rest of the work for you. Thing is most users don't revisit threads, one view and it's out. Getting pumped and dumped but online smh. All our megathreads (history, music, math) have very low activity because users find it easier to make a new thread each time. Even if we have a great discussion there won't be any additions to it after the first few hours

I knew a NEET who was like 17 and he was a drug addict who I discovered on a blackpill Discord server and he was boringness personified. He was productive on some drugs and did scams but he was extremely boring to talk to, not so much in the beginning but at some point I just stopped talking to him since he was so boring and probably only replied because he felt like he had to, to seem polite.

Personally I only DM a few users from time to time, and I think the same goes for alot of users. The only "active" discord clique are the 2020fags, and from what I hear even they are fading apart.

Most people in real life dislike me and somehow it‘s the case online too. I only knew one Indian guy who I felt liked me.

It used to be very active when there were very few users, then it died out until looksmax refugee and a few others kept it alive.
Now a lot of new users have joined and a lot of the users who kept it alive in the past have either left or have stuck with their own.
For the forum to flourish, everyone needs to be chatting and involving themselves in daily threads, sharing their personal experiences/thoughts and engaging in semi-constructive conversation with each other.
