I don't get the appeal of TikTok. The videos are so short that they offer barely any substance. How do normies mindlessly watch this slop? I finally downloaded it the other day and uninstalled it after an hour of forcing myself to watch. Is it just popular because people like the attention they get from making videos? I assume that's why women like it but I don't understand why the average guy would use it.


ALSO something I fucking hate on TikTok is how everyone shows their face most of the time. I hate looking up something and then having to start directly at someone's high definition face (especially if they're fat) as they share the info. It's like the most cringe blatant narcissism.

it was like that for me too, but I forced myself back in the day to watch that shit (because I wanted to be normal) then the algo found what I like, and since then I became addicted

That is exactly why it's popular: short-form content, therefore it is much more accessible and thus means less thought put into opening the app and scrolling for a while. The problem with that, is that it breeds low attention spans.

TikTok is the stupidest app ever created, not only is it full of dumbass zoomers, it's everywhere you go, I can't even go one day browsing the internet without hearing about that stupid app.

And those that use it don't realise it's literally spying on your phone. They don't read the permissions it allows, and therefore don't think about the risk it poses - especially in my country, where a Chinese invasion is quite likely in the near or distant future. It ruins your attention span for starters, and it can even manipulate your train of thought, given how easy it is to be groomed on there given the algorithm and the unmoderated content.
Remember when the Ronnie McNutt video kept being posted on there? Imagine all the young children who would have been traumatised by that shit. Well, I guess it isn't much different to when I was a kid and used 4chan's /b/ board, being exposed to constant shock threads.

You can't escape it irl either. It seems everyone who uses TikTok doesn't know earphones exist. Can't go to any public space that requires sitting without hearing TikTok videos blasted at full volume.
