Discussion Why would anyone prefer dub over sub when watching Anime?

honestly i would go with dubs if the dubbing itself wasnt shit like it usually is

fun fact, Baka means cow in Spanish

and I don't watch sub or dub, I can understand it without subs ( ha)

For the most part people that do watch dub over sub either have problems focusing on the words and screen, don't like the sound of the Japanese, or they are Dyslexic.

Personally, there are a few dubs I prefer over the original Trinity Seven, Shimoneta, and Dragon Ball Z are a few I think the English is superior

I watched a few of my first anime in dub but it didn't appeal to me, japanese sounds better to me and the original VA is consistently of higher quality than foreign dubs imo

English language doesn't translate well most of the time with the Japanese mannerisms.

The writing is cheesy too so it sounds even worse in English. Only tolerable dub is Yu Yu Hakusho and DB. I prefer the dub YYH but I like granny Goku more tbh.

watching it with subs seems like the incorrect way to watch anime. the point of watching the anime is that you’re watching it, not constantly having to read words at the bottom of the screen to understand what’s going on. the show isn’t intended to be read it’s intended to be watched. dub makes more sense.
