Life: A Tool of Destruction
Inspired by Georges Bataille's writings
1.The Sun and the Origin of Life
Complex atoms that construct living and non-living structures were once forged in the cores of stars. Every element is a product of subatomic interactions and gravity. Earth and humans are the remnants of star waste. The bleeding, rotten sun continues to bestow us with energy without receiving anything in return. This excess of energy dictates our lives. We are the cosmic shit of the black solar anus.
2.The Excess
Excess must be spent willingly or catastrophically—through creation like technological innovation or destruction like war and murder. Capitalism is a contemporary system of producing and destroying excess, creating useless products that lead to consumption beyond what is necessary for survival. Capitalism is humanity's destiny.
3.Spiritual and Functional
Excess has both spiritual and functional aspects in our inner experience. Individuals lose themselves in intense endeavors, whether through rational pursuits like careers or irrational immersions like religion. Both serve the same purpose: the consumption of excess in a rational or irrational manner. It is the will of the sun.
4.Accursed Share
The rat race, leading to wage slavery, is the accursed share. Every individual contributes to the consumption of excess, from high-status CEOs to the lowest criminals. What makes one better than the other is the amount of excess consumed—the more, the better, thus increasing the universe's waste entropy. This aligns perfectly with thermodynamics and the heat death of the universe.
5.Life: A Destructive Tool, Sacred, and Transgressive
What seems like productive creation, including human life and complex systems, is merely for production of entropy and thus destruction. The chaos of the acephal (headless) man is the perfect expression of how life and the universe work—irrationally headed towards destruction. The sacred is an inherently irrational embrace of whatever exists, and transgression is the ultimate manifestation of the sacred. It challenges the social norms that constrain individuals from satisfying their thirst for annihilation, whether of themselves or others.
