Were you ever interested in working in the IT field, or have/are currently working in it? Seems like a lot of users on these forums are working towards or are in it?

Never was into computers much, I know not everyone in IT started as some computer wiz (I have a friend who only got into it after the pandemic) but for the life of me it can’t get myself to enjoy it, especially sitting in the same space and typing away resolving and writing down code. Even the thought of it makes my head spin

No I'm too low IQ. The only job I ever had an interest in was policing (kek) and as an inkwell who is non-nt that would never be possible

Yes at first but eventually became more interested in more specific fields. I first wanted to do cyber security or AI but now I'm more interested in computer engineering and robotics

Not my thing, I'm more into jobs which involve moving around and physical labor.

IT and programming is fun, but the corporate overlords sucked the soul out of it and turned it into a brutal slave enterprise.

I don't think it's possible for a low IQ jobless bum like me. Also unrelated the it industry seems to have a disturbing amount of indians to compete with from what I've seen.

IT was my WORST subject at school

I fell behind the whole class and couldn't seem to do anything

the teacher was a bitter woman in a wheelchair who absolutely hated me

My IT teacher was also a slag who had a mental breakdown in yr 10 and had to leave us to get taught by supply teachers. I couldn't even wrap my head around Lua tbh ggs

Yes. Was my more realistic plan during highschool. Might've done it if i picked better shit in better college but i went for what i thought were the easy options at a college close to me. People recommend getting certs which im confident i could do easily but idk how well they prepare you for real scenarios or how far they can carry someone who left school at 16 and has barely worked since

I'm studying cybersecurity shit right now, but not doing any college for it. I'm just learning as much as I can off free shit online and then I'm going to get all the certifications needed + any basic IT related work experience I might need, which shouldn't take too long tbh since I think the certs will carry.

I plan on doing pentesting and hopefully will be able to land a comfy wfh job of some kind from it. Not sure how that part will go, but that's the plan for me since I don't like leaving the house much unless it's to go lift in my backyard or get groceries. It's my best bet for living a good neet lifestyle alone and in peace while getting paid good money since I live in the US.

It's also good stimulation since it's an actual goal to work towards too. If I spent all my free time playing vidya or some shit then it would be time wasted.

Apparently it's hyper competitive, besides I am studying chemistry now and chose to go for it so I might as well. But I need to actually secure a job when I graduate and considering I dabbled a bit in scripting before and I am decent at maths if I don't know what I plan on doing in 2rd year I think I'll try to branch into IT by getting certs and working my way up.

RN I NEED absolutely NEED a job though.

You need high IQ for that. Most people in here are of average intelligence.
